World Trade Center Series

On behalf of Florida Governor Jeb Bush, Lieutenant Governor Frank T. Brogan accepts artist proofs of Janice's World Trade Center Series. The prints are on display in the Florida State Capitol building. Janice created the series to honor our country's leadership and also to help raise money for the relief effort, fire departments, emergency medical services, etc.

Both series were part of the traveling Smithsonian exhibit, Before Freedom Came: African-American Life in the Antebellum South. They also have been part of The Crowning & Celebration of Achievement of African Heritage Values since 2000. As such, these paintings are touring 110 cities in 57 countries (e.g., Australia, France, Japan, Korea, Switzerland) over the next 10 years. A print of Safe for Now painting from the Underground Railroad series hangs at the Harriet Tubman home in Auburn, N.Y. Janice's new World Trade Center series is also receiving widespread acclaim.

While seemingly alone, this fireman momentarily kneels in prayer at ground zero. In reality, he is encompassed about by the supportive prayers of Christian intercessors from all over the world.

They Will Remember (Original: 36 x 48)
Acting out the events of September 11th in a respectful and patriotic manner, these children are emulating the acts of their new heroes (the firemen and other emergency personel) as they respond to the World Trader Center attack. The photograph in the hand of one of the children indicates that this national tragedy has become especially personal to him.
